Bhoot: Part One - The Haunted Ship (2020)

The first trailer for Vicky Kaushal’s horror film, Bhoot: The Haunted Ship has been released. The film is directed by Bhanu Pratap Singh, who previously assisted Shashank Khaitan on Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014).

The trailer, which also stars Bhoomi Pednekar and Ashutosh Rana, does not share a glimpse of the cast.

The trailer, in dark and monotone colors, introduces Kaushal’s character as Surveying Officer Prithvi. He was assigned to investigate the case of a ship that landed in Mumbai.

Curious to understand what happened on the ship, Prithvi begins his investigation, now known as the ‘Haunted Ship’. Unbeknownst to him, there were horror groups including the ghost of a young woman chasing the ship, who had just started to surface.

In the middle of the trailer, we also see Prithvi lying in a hospital bed, where doctors say he is delusional.

Throughout the clip, we see ghostly simple tropes like ghosts crawling behind walls, opening doors for people to dine on them, intriguing toys and children walking in the halls.

Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship, Produced by Karan Johar, Hiru Johar, Shashank Khaitan and Apurva Mehta. Khaitan stated that their main purpose with the upcoming film is to develop it into a series (which may include horror comedies).

Since making a horror film starring Urmila Matondkar in 2003, the production house has approached Ram Gopal Verma to buy the title rights of Bhut. With Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship, the makers of Dharma “want to make sure that the title horror is in the right hands,” Karan thanked Verma in a statement.
